A Day in the Life
Another one of my Beatles references for those who didn't get it. Today has been a very productive day for me, besides the laying in bed and watching TV for about 2 hours this morning because I was feeling like crap. I managed to make it out of bed, bruise some muscles, get a new web site designed, caught my 9 year old daughter watching Buffy in secret and get depressed again because of my stupid mother. Jeez, my life is like a roller coaster on some days.
I had made plans last week to go to the gym with a friend of mine, and this morning she ICQ?d me and I told her I just wasn?t feeling up to it. I didn?t think I would be able to move my body enough to actually exercise and besides my bed was just looking like such a nice place. I really don?t feel like discussing what was going through my head at the time; let?s just say that BP has a tendency to make you focus on things until you get depressed about them.
I stayed in bed most of the morning except for times when I had to take care of my son. I was just overwhelmed with depression I suppose. I finally made it out of bed when it was time to put him on the bus for school (around noon).
I went to the mailbox and low and behold there was a free three month pass to the gym in there. I figured it was time to call back my friend and reschedule that appointment. We went and I did a few exercises that worked out my back, stomach and sides.
I bet you?re all wondering how that went. Well, I can still type so there is no major muscle failure. It was my first gym experience and I have to admit it wasn?t as bad as I thought it was going to be. My back is a little sore (really the back of my arms) but when I think about how good I can look in just a few months?who cares about pain? I actually look forward to going again.

Ok I'm slacking and should be at the gym myself, but I have to add a little here:
You actually worked your biceps, triceps, quads, lats, some other dorsal muscles, and amazingly did at least 50 abdominal exercises (head-on crunches, and oblique exercises!). All of this PLUS a ride on the bike - man, you were awesome!
