A new plan

I have been trying to quit smoking since December and nothing I have tried seems to have worked so far. As of tomorrow morning I am going to just stop buying cigarettes and see how far that gets me. It might seem like such a simple thing to someone who has never smoked a cigarette before but after 14 years, it's a hard habit to break.

I keep thinking about what the hardest part will be and I would have to say that finding stuff to do with my time will be the most difficult of all. It's time to give it up though, I have been smoking way too long, I am already feeling the effects of a long term smoker and I don't like it very much. This is the best time for me to quit since I don't have to worry about turning in any papers for a few weeks and a lot of the stress that I did have has finally gone away. I really hope that I can do it this time. It would really suck to fail again.

don't think of it as failure. one step at a time, and sometimes in the wrong direction. you just need to find the right way, which is exactly what you're doing. I say the fact that you're even trying is excellent, and the more support you have around you, the better.
You can do this, just like any other task you've set out to accomplish in your life (find peace, happiness with your perfect husband, beautiful children, excel in school, take on the gym, and now, quitting smoking!).
Why must I always remind you about R. Sneider's famous words of wisdom?:

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

(um...call me if you need me to talk you through a nic fit :)

xo!

You should really be a cheerleader, or maybe a counselor of some kind...oh wait! Your so good at telling people what they need to hear.

Go watch Stephen King's _Cats Eye_ again - then go see my friend Bruno and he'll follow you around, stalking you and stick your husband in an electic cage if you break down and smoke...

Well, I'm pretty sure he'll stick Jemal in the electric cage regardless, but you don't have to tell your hubby that.

In fact, forget the whole stalking thing - let's just get some popcorn and watch Jemal jump up and down while being electro-therapied on his toesies.

ya know... it's refreshing posts like that one that just make you shake your head and thank Bob you're in reality. or are we???

Actually, I'm looking into mediation...

more on that later :)
