A better place
I spend hours a day reading news sites and trying to keep up with what's going on in the world and I thought I would pose a question to the rest of you. George Bush says that he has made this world safer by attacking Iraq and taking down Saddam Husajn. Do you think this is true? I don't want this to turn into an ugly debate, I just want to know where I stand among the rest of you.
Personally, I don't feel any safer, if anything I feel less safe. It is like we have decided to throw a shoe at the bees nest and now they are really pissed off. Maybe if we had left them alone, or been more selective in what we were after things would not have been so bad. I'm not saying I am an expert, it is just my personal opinion and feeling on the matter.
Maybe before the "shock and awe" there were 2 or 3 suicide bombings a day and I didn't notice because I wasn't as upset about the idiot president as I am now, and constantly looking at the news.
If I'm right and all of this began or is a result of the "war" then we (Americans) are being viewed as responsible for all of these other deaths happening around the world. "Not in my name" as they say. I have commented to a friend that I would be afraid to go to another country at this point because I don't know what those people would think of me because I am an American.
So what do you think?

A makeshift bomb exploded Wednesday near an electrical substation outside of Athens, causing minor damage but no injuries, only 9 days before the opening of Olympic Games slated for Aug 13- 29, local media reported.

The idea that we're any safer today because of GWB's policies is so flat-out ludicrous that I can't even really comment on it.

So, I'm not alone. Thank you.

I heard that they're spending a record 1 billion dollars on security for security at Athens this year, with the hopes that it will make celebrities, etc., feel safe enough to still go to the games.
