Osama comments on Bush

"Despite the fact that we are into the fourth year after September 11, Bush is still misleading you and hiding the real reason from you, which means that the reasons to repeat what happened remain," said bin Laden.

Osama also accused Bush of negligence during the September 11 attacks in 2001, that killed nearly 3,000 people and were claimed by Al-Qaeda, saying he was slow to react to the first attack on the World Trade Center.

"It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the US armed forces would leave 50,000 of his citizens in the two towers to face these horrors alone at a time when they were most in need of him," he said.

"He reckoned that it was more important to pre-occupy himself with the talk of the little girl about her goat ... than with the planes and their strike on the skyscrapers, giving us three times the time required to carry out the operations, thanks be to God," Osama added.

Osama also slammed Bush's policy on Iraq, accusing him of having replaced Saddam Hussein by another "agent" in order to plunder the country's oil resources.

It's sad when the terrorists can point out your mistakes. I'd also say that the terrorist vote would be for Bush, since he seems to let them get away with so much.

Another Day

Today I went and had blood drawn, a lot of blood drawn. They took a total of 11 vials of blood from my arm and the bruise already looks bad, I can't wait to see what it will look like tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to a diagnosis. At least at that point I will be able to treat it with medication instead of just suffering through.

One of the many test is a thyroid test. I did some reading about thyroid problems and the symptoms seem to cover a lot of the things that I have been suffering from for a very long time, including depression and lack of motivation. I would be very happy to find out that I have it, it runs in the family too, because I could in theory take a pill and be cured of all these things. The blood test came back negative two years ago, but I read that there is only a 30% accuracy in a blood test for thyroid disorders. However, I have had a sonogram done to see if there is something wrong, which is much more accurate. I'll let you know how that goes.

There isn't much more going on in my life right now besides the dealing with doctors about one thing or another. I do have an interesting problem going on with my mother and I am not sure how to deal with it. It came to my attention that my mother is using my grandmothers name to get herself a telephone. Caller ID is wonderful. There is a long story here but I don't feel like writing it all out. Basically, I called the phone company and they verified that my mother was using my grandmothers name and when I told my grandmother she didn't believe me. I don't know what to do about the problem. I know how bad my mother can ruin her credit like she has her own. Should I confront my mother myself, or should I call my aunt and uncle and have them try to talk some sense into my grandmother? Suggestions would be nice.

BTW, my shrink put all my meds back to what they were a month ago. She said that I was having too many side effects from the sudden changes in everything. I was having trouble sleeping and other problems. I think that she will be giving me a new plan in two weeks when I go see her. We will see what the new cocktail will be, and maybe after a diagnosis of a thyroid problem I may not need the anti-psycotic meds anymore!

Doctor, Doctor, Doctor

Since I was awake late tonight I thought that I would write a little about what has been going on for the last few weeks. It really isn't much I have just been going to a lot of doctors to have things checked, prodded and looked over.

I have finally gotten to see a neurologist about the shakes or seizures that I have been having. The doctor doesn't think that I have epilepsy but he wants me to have a 24 hour EEG done soon to rule it out. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was younger because of an abnormal EEG but it was later determined that I did not have epilepsy because of a later EEG that was done. Here we go again. I don't know what the doctor plans to diagnose me with if it's not epilepsy but it had syndrome attached to the end of it. I guess I will have to wait to see what the results are first.

I also went to see a doctor about my shoulder and joints hurting. He says I could have arthritis or fibromyalgia. he didn't give me any advice about what to do while I am waiting to have blood test done and seeing a rumitologist. I wish that he had said more. He offered one suggestion of using those hand braces on my hands to relieve the stress on my hands. The biggest problem I have though is with my knees. So, that's another thing that I am waiting for.

All the time dealing with the stitches in my back to heal. The stitches have been removed but the hole is still healing. I wish I still had the pain meds to kill the sharp pain that I have when I lay back on it. The doctor told me that it could be another 6 weeks until the hole inside actually heals, so I could feel the pain until then.

I guess that is all that I have for tonight. I better try to get some sleep.

Maryland Voter Information

This is just a collection of links to help you sort out what to do on election day. It's a little late to register for this years election but it's not too late for 2008. Using this site you can find out a lot of important information about the upcoming election. The Green Papers site give a list of links to all of the running candidates websites and their corresponding parties. The Baltimore Sun also keeps a great page up about local politics. You might also want to be informed about TrueVoteMD. I will post more information when I find it. I am still looking for recent polls for local candidates.

1000 Reasons not to vote for Bush

The president and attorney general, from their first days in office, have pursued secrecy and restrictions on civil liberties. The terror attacks gave them a new rationale -- national security.

Three years later, the landscape of American liberties stands profoundly altered. The Patriot Act gives the government unprecedented new powers to snoop and arrest. Incorporated almost verbatim into the law's 300 pages are wish lists that prosecutors drafted long before the attacks. Los Angeles Times Friday September 10, 2004

The world wants President Bush out of the White House, according to a poll released on Wednesday that shows in 30 of 35 countries people preferred Democrat candidate John Kerry.

Kerry was particularly favored in traditionally strong U.S. allies and beat Bush on average by more than a two-to-one margin, 46 percent to 20 percent, the survey by GlobeScan Inc, a global research firm, and the University of Maryland, said. Yahoo News Wednesday September 08, 2004

The White House blocked a congressional investigation into alleged links between the Saudi government and two September 11, 2001, hijackers, a top US senator wrote in a book.

Florida Senator Bob Graham, the Democrat who co-chaired Congress's probe into the September 11 attacks, wrote that Saudi government agents were part of a support network in the United States for two hijackers who took part in the devastating strikes, the Miami Herald reported Sunday.

But President George W. Bush's administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation blocked Congress's investigation into the alleged ties, Graham wrote in "Intelligence Matters," a copy of which the Herald obtained. Yahoo News Sunday September 05, 2004

Reasons # 21 - 25

21. LIE: "We'll fulfill our promise that no child will be left behind in America." GWB, 9/9/03.
TRUTH : One in six U.S. children lives in poverty, and in the past two years under Bush, 500,000 more kids were forced onto the poverty rolls. Children's Defense Fund, 9/26/03.
22. LIE : "My plan will reduce tax rates for everyone who pays income tax." GWB, 4/26/03.
TRUTH : Under Bush's proposal, over 8 million taxpayers would have received no tax cut whatsoever. Tax Policy Center, 5/30/03.
23. LIE: "My Clear Skies legislation will reduce smog and mercury emissions, as well as stop acid rain." GWB, 4/22/02.
TRUTH : Bush's plan allows the release of millions of additional tons of mercury and acid-rain-producing sulfur dioxide per year. Natural Resources Defense Council, 2/27/03.
24. LIE: "The states can do whatever they want about [gay marriage]." GWB, 2/25/00.
TRUTH: Bush has now called for a constitutional amendment prohibiting states from setting their own policies in this regard.
25. LIE: "We must uncover every detail and learn every lesson from Sept. 11." GWB, 11/27/02.
TRUTH: Bush opposed and later stonewalled the bipartisan independent investigation into 9/11. Washington Post, 2/05/04.

Reasons # 16 - 20

16. "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we," August 4, 2004
17. "In an economic recession, I'd rather that in order to get out of this recession, that the people be spending their money, not the government trying to figure out how to spend the people's money."?Tampa, Fla., Feb. 16, 2004
18. "The recession started upon my arrival. t could have been?some say February, some say March, some speculate maybe earlier it started?but nevertheless, it happened as we showed up here. The attacks on our country affected our economy. Corporate scandals affected the confidence of people and therefore affected the economy. My decision on Iraq, this kind of march to war, affected the economy."?Meet the Press, Feb. 8, 2004
19. "The ambassador and the general were briefing me on the?the vast majority of Iraqis want to live in a peaceful, free world. And we will find these people and we will bring them to justice."?Washington, D.C., Oct. 27, 2003
20. "Washington is a town where there's all kinds of allegations. You've heard much of the allegations. And if people have got solid information, please come forward with it. And that would be people inside the information who are the so-called anonymous sources, or people outside the information?outside the administration."?Chicago, Sept. 30, 2003

His own words are enough.

Reasons # 11 - 15

11. Bush declared to NBC?s Meet the Press that he was a war president, and he meant it. Though he has failed to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice as he promised, he has definitely made impacts on wars. He?s broken more international treaties than any other president.
12. He also presided over the highest gas prices in history, a problem that affected almost every American. But Bush?s Cabinet benefited economically during his term. The 16 members of his cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. The poorest millionaire of the Cabinet, Condoleezza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.
13. He set the record for the fewest press conferences of any president since the advent of the television.
14. Bush hasn?t done anything for minorities, let alone people in poverty.
15. Though he garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the September 11th attacks, less than a year later he made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

6 Stitches

stitches2.jpg As you can see from the photos that I just had stitches put in my back. It wasn't anything serious but it was enough that the doctor gave me pain killers again. I am starting to wonder if I might be on the road to getting addicted to them, since I have been on them for nearly a month now for one reason or another.I can't really complain though, I am feeling good and that's nice.

I had to go to the doctor to have a cyst removed from my back that had been bothering me for about 2 years now. It wasn't serious but bothersome. So, I went in to the surgeons office and he said that he could do it immediately. I was a little shocked, I thought it would take at least a couple of weeks and maybe even a trip to the hospital, but no, he did it right there.

I got shot up with a local antithetic and laid on the table on my stomach. I didn't feel much but the pulling and tugging on my back. The doctor was very good, he kept me talking about everyday stuff and keeping me from thinning about what was happening. When it was all over I was quite surprised that it was done so quickly.

Now I just have to wait 10 days to have the stitches taken out and I hope that the scare will not be too bad. I am lucky that I have a good husband that is letting me rest up over this 3 day weekend and let myself heal for a few days. It is really quite enjoyable, especially with the help of the pain killers.

As for tonight I am just bored and trying to find some things to do. There isn't much on the TiVo so I have nothing to do but post something new here on my blog. I really should just be laying down and resting. I don't have anything more to say about the last few days besides the stitches incident.

I was suppose to go to see a neurologist and an orthopedist last week but because I had strep throat I missed both appointments. I guess I will have to reschedule them next week. They are very important. I have been having trouble with my shoulder and with these tremors that I have been having. However since I have been taking the lamictal the tremors seem to have stopped, or at least have lessened a lot. I don't think I have had one in a couple of weeks. So, I guess it is working.

It's almost 11 now and I think I should lay down and try to get some sleep. I haven't been getting up until 10 for the last couple of days and I will have to get up at 7 on Tuesday, so I better get myself used to that.

You should also check put my new Links on my FreshCaffeine site

Reasons # 6-10

6. Failing to build a real international coalition prior to the Iraq invasion, forcing the US to shoulder the full cost and consequences of the war.
7. Making a case for war, which ignored intelligence that there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq.
8. Failing to give UN weapons inspectors enough time to certify if weapons existed in Iraq.
9. Announcing ?major combat operations in Iraq have ended? on May 1, 2003?more US soldiers have died in combat since that announcement than before it.
10. Approving the demobilization of the Iraq Army in May 2003- bypassing the Joint Chiefs of Staff and reversing an earlier position, the President left hundreds of thousands of armed Iraqis disgruntled and unemployed, contributing significantly to the massive security problems American troops have faced during occupation.

Reasons not to vote for Bush # 1 - 5

I thought I would start a series of articles that point out exactly why you shouldn't vote for Bush in November and here are the first 5:

1. Shattered the record for the biggest annual deficit in history. (Info Here)
2. Spent about 42 percent of his presidency on vacation, as a wartime president. (Info Here and Here)
3. The first president in US history to order a US attack AND military occupation of a sovereign nation, and did so against the will of the United Nations and the vast majority of the international community. (Info Here)
4. Under-funding the ?No Child Left Behind Act? and trying to use it to boost his resume by lying about the figures. (Info Here)
5. Signing a report endorsing outsourcing with thousands of American workers having their jobs shipped overseas. While claiming that he is trying to improve employment here in America. (Info Here)

I will continue to post 5 new reasons each day until the elections. I hope that these will enlighten some of you who are "on the fence" or even considering Bush for President again. At least follow the links and start forming a better opinion based on the facts.

John Lennon's Killer Denied Parole

lennon2.jpg

(Xinhuanet) -- The man who killed John Lennon 24 years ago has been denied parole for the third time on Tuesday in New York before Lennon's 64th birthday (Oct.9).

Mark David Chapman, 49, was notified of the decision after appearing before a three-member panel. The parole board made their decision because of the "the extreme malicious intent" Chapman showed when he shot Lennon.

Chapman shot and killed John Lennon, Beatles' key figure, in December of 1980. He is serving a prison sentence of 20 years to life at the Attica Correctional Facility near Buffalo, New York, and had been denied parole twice previously, in 2000 and 2002. Chapman's fourth chance to ask for freedom will be two years later.

Vice Presidents Debate

Cheney-Edwards.jpg

"Cheney wrongly implied that FactCheck had defended his tenure as CEO of Halliburton Co., and the vice president even got our name wrong. He overstated matters when he said Edwards voted "for the war" and "to commit the troops, to send them to war." He exaggerated the number of times Kerry has voted to raise taxes, and puffed up the number of small business owners who would see a tax increase under Kerry's proposals.

Cheney got our domain name wrong -- calling us "FactCheck.com (which takes you to georgesoros.com)" -- and wrongly implied that we had rebutted allegations Edwards was making about what Cheney had done as chief executive officer of Halliburton.

Cheney repeatedly said Edwards had voted "for the war" and "to commit the troops," when in fact the Iraq resolution that both Kerry and Edwards supported left the decision to the president and called for intensified diplomacy."

GOP asks for arrest of Michael Moore

slackertour.gifYesterday the Republican party in Michigan filed criminal charges against Michael Moore. The Charges are being issued because Michael Moore offered college students free underwear and Raman noodles in exchange for their promise to vote on November 2. This is part of Michael Moore's Slacker Uprising Tour.

"The satire of all this seems to have been lost on the Republicans. Or maybe it hasn't. The state of Michigan (where we spent most of last week) reported that over 100,000 young people recently registered to vote, a record that no one saw coming. The Slacker Tour has turned into a huge steamroller with a momentum all its own."

No one is trying to fight the strip club (in Texas) that's cover is a voter registration card.

Emo's, a downtown club, throbbed with the pounding sound of techno bass and drums on Sunday night. On a small stage a woman in pasties and fishnet stockings swung her body around a pole and then crawled across the floor as the crowd hollered.

Away from the stage, a less titillating scene was playing out. As customers walked into the club, they were asked to show a voter registration card. The unregistered were sat down and signed up.

Fahrenheit 9/11

Fahrenheit911.jpg

Today's the day! You can now own your own copy of "Fahrenheit 9/11." Or, you can rent it. It is now available in thousands of stores across the country for you to take into your possession and use as your own personal weapon of George Bush's mass defeat. You can also just have a nice movie night at home with the kids.

Nothing would make me happier than to have you share it with everyone you know. All surveys have shown that, the more people who see it -- especially those still sitting on the fence -- the more likely we will have regime change come November 2nd. As the critic from the New York Times wrote, "Mr. Bush is under no obligation to answer Mr. Moore's charges, but he will have to answer to Mrs. Lipscomb." In other words, it is impossible for any good American with a heart and a conscience to survive a viewing of "Fahrenheit 9/11" and not be profoundly moved by the grief of the mother from Flint who lost her son, Michael, in Iraq. What do we say to her when she asks us what exactly was it that her son died for? Mr. Bush can't tell her the real reason because the truth is so appalling that, if we were to stop and consider the true level of his deceit, it might cause more than just his defeat in November. They used to hold trials for crimes like his and Cheney's and Rumsfeld's and Wolfowitz's.

May I suggest that you take this DVD and run with it? Use it as a way to energize people of like-mind or convince recovering Republicans that this may be the most important election of our lifetime. Here is what you can do:

1. Hold Your Own Neighborhood Premiere of "Fahrenheit 9/11." Do it this week. Get the DVD, break out the biggest TV screen you have, pop the corn and invite over your friends, family, classmates, coworkers and neighbors for a couple of hours of laughter and tears. When it's over, take a few minutes to decide what everyone is going to do between now and November 2nd.

2. Become Your Own Fahrenheit Video Store. Buy a copy of the film and then just start lending it for free to everyone you know for a night at a time. Become known as "The Fahrenheit Connection" to those with whom you work or go to school.

3. Sponsor Large Community or School Screenings. You have my permission. Don't charge money (unless everyone has to chip in for the union hall or church basement). Invite everyone; pack the place. Have something for people to do afterwards, like volunteering for a "get out the vote" drive between now and November 2nd.

4. Give It Away. The politics and economics of the video business mean that those in poorer communities often have to resort to bootlegging. While I'm happy for people to see my movie by any means necessary, I would love for them to see it the way I made it and under the best possible conditions. If you have the wherewithal, donate copies of the DVD and VHS to your local library or to your school library. Get multiple copies and pass them out, especially to groups and people who can't afford to buy it. In a free society, which only survives if it has an enlightened electorate, information should be shared, not privately owned.

Kerry's pen, Bush's Cheat sheet

cheat2.jpg

It appears that while FoxNews' Matt Drudge has been making a big deal about Kerry pulling something out of his pocket during the debate. They even have been airing a clip to show the magical moment. Mistakenly they have also been showing their viewers that Bush pulls out a cheat sheet and lays it down on the podium. In one shot you can even see that there is a neatly typed page sitting in front of the president. More close-ups are available. So whats on the pages...

The Escape Artist

I just had the most frightening experience of my life. I am so nervous I am smoking like a chimney and shaking all over. I think the worst possible thing that can happen to you as a parent of an autistic child is for them to escape out the front door. My son did just this.

Before you question why I didn't have the door locked (we have 3 locks on the door) or why I wasn't watching him, I will explain. My daughter had just come in from school and forgot something in her desk so she had to run back out. When she went back out she left the door open slightly, not thinking (it's hard for a 9 year old with a brother that has a developmental delay). I was watching from another room with the video monitor that we have set up and I ran as fast as I could to get to the door.

By the time I got up the stairs Jared had already bolted out the door and out of sight. I should also say that we live on a very busy street and cars fly by. Needless to say I was so afraid that he had run into the road. I ran around one corner and then I turned around to go the other way, when I found him.

I found him after what felt like hours, but was only about 3 minutes, in the neighbor's driveway. What a relief!

Sleepless Nights

I went without my medication last night. I had a hard time sleeping. I hate it when that happens.

I used to love being awake at night while everyone else was sound asleep in their beds. It somehow made me feel more alive then them. I had a feeling like I was getting more out of my time on this earth then they were. The funny part was that I spend all of that time just sitting in front of the TV watching infomercials and reruns of Cops. I didn't do anything useful with the "extra" time I had. I would spend it worrying about what I had to do the next day or thing I had forgotten to do that day. I never actually got anything done. And because of that, on the next day I was too tired to get anything done either. It was a vicious cycle. I am so glad that I don't have to go through that as often as I did in the past.

I remember times when I was 14 - 22 where I would stay awake for at least a week straight. I just couldn't sleep. I found that in Fight Club that described it best everything becomes "a copy of a copy of a copy" and you can't tell what's real anymore. It's like being on really good drugs, without the fear of police arresting you. The bad side is that you can't seem to associate with the real world after awhile.

Since I started taking medication I have been able to sleep, the hard part now is trying to wake up. Before I had kids I could sleep in until noon. That is not allowed anymore. Now I have to be awake by 7 am sharp, to get the kids off to school. I am still not a morning person though, my kids don't get things like pancakes and French toast for breakfast. They get frozen waffles and pop tarts instead. I wish I could do better than that but my psychiatrist says that not everyone can be a soccer mom and especially not a person with a bi-polar...meaning me.

Lots of Doctors

Visiting the doctor is becoming a daily routine for me. I had to go again today to see my regular doctor today about getting referrals for a Neurologist, an Orthopedist, and a General Surgeon. I have so many things wrong with me that I feel broken. The hope is that after the next week everything will be right with me or at least I will know what is wrong and on the way to fixing it.

The Neurologist is suppose to give me an EEG to see if the tremors, shakes or seizes I have been having are caused by epilepsy or some other unknown factor. I have had a few of these test done through out my years on this planet and a few times when I was younger they said that I had epilepsy, but later they said I didn't. I guess I will have to wait and see what the new doctor has to say.

I will have to figure out the best way to describe the shock like feeling that goes down my spine when these "seizures" occur. It has been happening to me since at least I was 14. I know when I was 6 or so I was in a car accident that led to me being put through s series of EEG test on a regular basis. In those test it was said that I had "abnormal wave patterns" in my brain. That led to having weekly sessions with a psychiatrist that I remember clearly never talking to because I thought he was "creepy". I had to go through a series of tests that don't know the outcome of because I was so young, but my mother stopped the meetings after about 1 year.

I later went back to see another psychiatrist and Neurologist when I was about 14. The basic outcome of that was that I was a "troubled kid" that had "behavioral problems". Those sessions didn't last long, maybe 3 months. I was put on medication for awhile but it didn't help me at all. I seemed to get worse really. The epilepsy came up again while seeing that doctor but the EEG done during that test said that it was normal. Who knows what the next one will say. Personally, I don't think it is epilepsy, I think it is some other nerve disorder, but I'm not a doctor.

The visit to the Orthopedist is mostly about my shoulder. The pain in my shoulder has not gone away in 3 weeks. It has gotten a little better, but it still hurts to do things like wash my hair, raise my arms above my shoulders and things like that. There are other things that I would like to talk to the doctor about while I am there too. I have always had problems with my knees and other joints as well and maybe this is a problem associated with that.

When I go to see the surgeon I will be having a cyst removed from my back that has been bugging me for a couple of years now. I am a little worried about it. I don't like needles and I don't like pain. I also don't know what to expect from this appointment. I hope that everything goes okay and that if I have to do anything serious to my back that the doctor will give me plenty of pain killers.

In other news, the new pills that I have been taking are really working for me. I am feeling a lot better than I did just a week ago. I am feeling like I have more energy and more interest in things I had lost interest in for almost a year now. I still think that the doctor will be increasing the dosing of the medication when I see her next but for now I am already feeling the effects.
