Day One

Jemal left this morning with Sierra for a 7 day trip out to WI. They have a wedding to be in, some school shopping to do and an amusement park to go to before they come back home next week. I am here with Jared and GG (Great Grandma) trying to find things to keep me busy for all of these days that I will be without my hubby.

I am used to having him home everyday by now and it feels strange to not have him here to watch TV with or talk to.

I think it is going to be a very long week for me. Jared is doing better then I thought that he would. As long as I keep giving him toys he seems to be happy. He says "Daddy and Sierra are missing", which in Jared language means I miss daddy and Sierra.

In other news my dad was finally released from jail yesterday. He had spent 9 months in there on a trespassing charge. He is happy to be out and about now. It was nice while he was in there though, I knew where he was and that he was being taken care of. Now that he is out he has to find a place to stay and food and all of that good stuff.

I am hoping that he listens to me an looks into getting food stamps or some other help until he can find a job. He's a very proud man and doesn't like to take that kind of help. For the money I sent him while he was in jail he swears that he is going to take a bus (if he doesn't have a car) and drive up here and repaint my house for me.

That's the big difference between my mom and my dad, he appreciates everything you do for him, if you loan him $20 he will repay you double (usually by working it off) and with my mother she thinks everyone owes her something and that she doesn't have to pay anything back. That and she's a crazy bitch.

I got a 800# from Vonage and I couldn't be happier about doing it. Now my dad can call me from anywhere and he doesn't have to call me collect with those outrageous prices. Vonage gives you 100 minutes free with your 800# each month and additional minutes are just 4.9 cents. That's cheaper then most long distance companies.

I might as well pimp Vonage real quick...

It's great! We pay $30 per month and we get all of the features that we had with Verizon and more. The one I like the most is the Simultaneous Ring. I can have my home phone and my cell phone ring at the same time. This means that if I am out and there is a call for me I can answer it on my cell, but it also means that if the call is for someone who is still at home they can just pick it up. Everything is so easy to add and delete from your service, it's all on one website. No calling the phone company and waiting the 10-14 days for them to get around to adding a service to your phone, it's done immediately! Your bill comes out of your account on the same day every month and it is always the same amount because you have unlimited calls to anywhere in the US (and Canada I think). Anyway, if you wanna try Vonage (you can keep your same #) give me your info and I can get you a free trial month.

Back to life...

I think with Jemal not here I am going to put my pillows in the middle of our king size bed tonight and just take up the whole thing. I am not doing any cleaning (unless it is necessary) while Jemal is gone. I figure if he gets a vacation so do I.

While he is away I have to plan his Birthday party too. I am not sure what to do yet. We spent quite a bit on computers and we said that would be our presents. I have this problem every year though. I like to buy him stuff, hell I like to shop period, but I like shopping for holidays especially.

That Mac Mini that he has is what I was going to buy for him for his birthday anyway. Now I have to think of something just as exciting but not as expensive. Than I have to make a cake, Jared will like helping me with that I think. Time to start looking around at Amazon.com I don't have many shipping days left.
