Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone! While Jemal and I were suppose to do an overhaul on the basement this weekend it turns out that we just don't have the energy to do that kind of thing. We managed to organize a few shelves and get rid of a lot of trash that we had been saving for the last few years. So I am at least happy that we got that stuff out of here. Next week we will have to empty out the closet and start going through that stuff. There is so much stuff in there that the door barely shuts anymore.
I am also going to start doing something that I said I would never do. I am going to make a scrapbook for each of my kids and a family scrapbook. I know, I know. What is happening to me? I figure I should make something to replace the baby books that I never filled out for them and maybe when they grow up they will be happy with the book they each get. Plus, I have nothing else to do.
Now I don't plan on going nuts like some people I have seen. I just want to make pages for major moments in their lives and some of their artwork and things like that. It will also help me to not lose this kind of stuff. It will all be organized and in one place. Then, when they get older it will be theirs to have.
It's really just another organizing idea that I thought I would share. Keep the important things and throw away the other stuff. If it isn't good enough to go in the kids scrapbook then you obviously don't plan on keeping it forever and you might as well throw it away now.
You don't need all of that paper and little cut-outs either. just by the double stick tape and a label maker. You might want a photo template for cutting photos in certain shapes but I can't imagine that you really need more then that. You might enjoy having the cool scissors that they have for some projects depending on how much you get into this.
Keep all of your supplies in one shoe box size or medium rubbermaid bin and you'll never loose the stuff (label the box with your new label maker). Then just buy a nice scrapbook big enough to hold all of the kinds of things you plan to put in there (photos, report cards, awards, drawings, etc.). If you plan on using the same one from kindergarden to graduation buy a nice thick one or one that you can add pages to.
I should also tell you that I know nothing about scrap booking so this is all just my own ideas. You can figure out what is best for you from what you can find at the store.
That is all that I have for you today. I will come up with some new organizational tips as I come up with them for myself. I really like this much better then writing about my family. I like to organize and I am good at it. I am not so good at dealing with my family. Maybe I can find a way to organize my family? That would make them easier to deal with.
BTW, I am sorry that I did not send out any Easter cards. I have been in the house a lot lately and I wasn't able to get out and get cards for everyone. So, Happy Easter to all of you and imagine the kind of lovely and wonderful card that you would have liked to have gotten and that is the card that I sent.
