Never Say Good-Bye?
It was a long time ago when I started noticing that on TV shows and Movies they never say good-bye or other similar farewell when hanging up from a phone call. At first I just thought it was odd but today I really wanted to figure out if there was a reason for it.
After doing a little research I found that I was not the only person that noticed this. I found this guy who actually tried to do it in real life with poor results. Just imagine what people would think if you didn't say good-bye or some other phrase to let them know that the conversation was over and that you were hanging up the phone on them.
So, is there a reason for this? Well, my guess is that it is a superstitious things that people in the entertainment industry believe in. Right now I am doing some research on it but I can't seem to find anything that really answers the question.
After doing several hours of research on the internet I found nothing about it. Not even anyone else (but the one I already linked to) that have mentioned this. I had thought that more people would have had something to say about this topic.
My question to you is have you even noticed this? Do you have any ideas as to why they do this? Have you ever seen an exception to this?
I would really like to know if anyone else can find an answer to this question. I will continue to do research and post anything that I find later.
This is something so simple but yet it really bothers me when I am watching a TV show or a movie and they don't say good bye and they just hang up the phone. I really would feel better if I knew the reason why they don't do it.

I am thinking about writing some emails to some production companies and asking them why no body ever say good-bye in movies. I wonder if I would get a response.

People who do that suffer from separation anxiety and also show forms of control. They are usually always grumpy. My friend's dad does this all of the time.
