Someone Tells The Truth

This was posted by a friend of mine and I thought I would pass it on to more of you. I watched this video and I was really impressed with the honesty on a national news channel (MSNBC). I am actually thinking about setting up a season pass for Keith Olbermann's show on my Tivo.

This one report really says more then any episode of "The Daily Show" I have ever seen. I am happy to see a news anchor really speak the truth and call the president out for all the stuff that is going on. You should really take a look at it. And I am putting it right here on my blog so that you don't have to follow any links to get to it.

Hope you enjoyed the show. Maybe it will give you hope or open your eyes. Either way, I have done my good deed for the day.

Osama comments on Bush

"Despite the fact that we are into the fourth year after September 11, Bush is still misleading you and hiding the real reason from you, which means that the reasons to repeat what happened remain," said bin Laden.

Osama also accused Bush of negligence during the September 11 attacks in 2001, that killed nearly 3,000 people and were claimed by Al-Qaeda, saying he was slow to react to the first attack on the World Trade Center.

"It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the US armed forces would leave 50,000 of his citizens in the two towers to face these horrors alone at a time when they were most in need of him," he said.

"He reckoned that it was more important to pre-occupy himself with the talk of the little girl about her goat ... than with the planes and their strike on the skyscrapers, giving us three times the time required to carry out the operations, thanks be to God," Osama added.

Osama also slammed Bush's policy on Iraq, accusing him of having replaced Saddam Hussein by another "agent" in order to plunder the country's oil resources.

It's sad when the terrorists can point out your mistakes. I'd also say that the terrorist vote would be for Bush, since he seems to let them get away with so much.

"If your not with us, your with the terrorists" - G.W. Bush

Does that make me a terrorist because I disagree with this administration and the way that it has handled matters in this country and abroad? Could I end up in Guantanamo for this? Have we reached a point in history where not only is freedom of speech threatened but freedom of choice as well?

People are being put in jail for wearing t-shirts that appose the president, and fired from their government jobs for protesting against this administration. How long before anti-bush bloggers are dragged into jail cells and charged with being terror suspects for imparting a little knowledge to the masses? Could it happen?

A better place

I spend hours a day reading news sites and trying to keep up with what's going on in the world and I thought I would pose a question to the rest of you. George Bush says that he has made this world safer by attacking Iraq and taking down Saddam Husajn. Do you think this is true? I don't want this to turn into an ugly debate, I just want to know where I stand among the rest of you.

Personally, I don't feel any safer, if anything I feel less safe. It is like we have decided to throw a shoe at the bees nest and now they are really pissed off. Maybe if we had left them alone, or been more selective in what we were after things would not have been so bad. I'm not saying I am an expert, it is just my personal opinion and feeling on the matter.

NYC, Newark, Washington on alert

For those of you who don't read the news on a regular basis you may have missed this bit of information I found on the front page of Google News.

Citing "unusually specific" intelligence that al-Qaida plans to attack landmark financial institutions in New York, Newark and Washington, most likely with truck or car bombs, the federal government yesterday raised the threat level to "high" for the five reported targets, including the New York Stock Exchange.

At a hastily called news conference yesterday, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge disclosed that the government had received "unusually specific information" that al-Qaida intends to attack the stock exchange and the Citigroup buildings in New York, as well as the Prudential financial building in Newark and the World Bank and International Monetary Fund buildings in Washington. -- (NewsDay)

Homeland Security Gets Data on Arab-Americans

In today's top news articles I found that the homeland security office has received information from the U.S. Census Bureau relating to the population of Arab and Arab-Americans living in the United States.

The U.S. Census Bureau has provided population data on Arab-Americans to the Department of Homeland Security, including their ancestry and the cities and postal areas in which they live, The New York Times reported on Friday.

One set of data listed cities with more than 1,000 Arab-Americans. The other, more detailed set, provided ZIP code breakdowns and sorted Arab-Americans by country of origin. The categories were Egyptian, Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Moroccan, Palestinian, Syrian, "Arab/Arabic" and "Other Arab."

A spokeswoman for Customs and Border Protection told the newspaper the requests were made not for law enforcement purposes, but to help identify in which airports to post signs and pamphlets in Arabic to assist travelers.-- (Reuters)

What exactly does homeland security have to do with the boards of travel and tourism of any particular state? That lie just doesn't make any sense.

Not in our name

"A year ago, I did give the speech from the carrier, saying that we had
achieved an important objective, that we'd accomplished a mission, which
was the removal of Saddam Hussein. As as a result, there are no longer
torture chambers or rape rooms or mass graves in Iraq"
(President George W. Bush, April 30, 2004)

If you would like to read the 9/11 commission report and you don't feel like paying for it or driving down to the book store you can get it from the 9/11 commission website for free. However, if your not as lucky as I am to have a laptop the portability sucks.

WMD - with free super saver shipping!

Although U.S. search teams in Iraq have so far produced no proof of weapons of mass destruction, President Bush said he remains "absolutely convinced" the evidence will be found.

The president gave brief comments to reporters at a Cabinet meeting hours after a key Democratic senator told CNN he believes the U.S. intelligence community deliberately manipulated intelligence to win support for the war against Iraq.

"Iraq had a weapons program," Bush said. "Intelligence throughout the decade showed they had a weapons program. I am absolutely convinced with time we'll find they did have a weapons program." (**)

Of Course he's sure they will find them he's shipping them in.

So, I'm looking at CNN.com and I read that :

The FBI said Friday that it had "unconfirmed information" that a domestic group plans to attack media vehicles, possibly with "explosives or incendiary devices," according to a statement issued by the FBI's Boston field office.
